It is not until I set foot on the gravel roads of Puerto Jimenez, carrying a bright red, 30 kilo suitcase that I realised a completely new experience was ahead of me…

I spend the days teaching English and PE at the bilingual elementary school, which is struggling to survive in a small town living under basic conditions. After school, if not selling homemade ice cream with my lovely host mother, I would walk to beautiful beaches with other teachers, hoping to get that last bit of sun!

My first weekend of course ended in midst of rainforest adventures, munching away fresh almonds and coconuts from the trees. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
