I was very anxious before my arrival in Madagascar to begin a Healthcare project of which I knew almost nothing about. Upon arrival however, the long lasting anxiety quickly faded as I was welcomed into open arms by the Frontier staff. I was immediately given a rundown of the things I was going to be working on during my stay in Nosy-Be - I was basically given the opportunity see what I enjoyed doing the most and what I wanted to continue doing during my stay.

By the end of my four weeks, I really didn’t want to leave. The experiences I had during those four weeks were unforgettable. Whether it was going to the youth club 3 times a week, designing and preparing a healthcare mural at École Frère, being said “hello” to by the young Malagasy children everywhere I went, playing (and winning) a football match against the nuns running the school; enjoying incredibly social party nights at camp every Friday; competing in Frontier’s very own Beach Olympics; meeting and being around such great people all day or just living on a beautiful island for four weeks.

This was truly one of the greatest experiences of my life and if I ever have an opportunity to do it again … well, it’s a no-brainer! Although next time, I think I’d have to stay for longer.
