This project is perfect for anyone looking for an immersive volunteer experience in one of the most exciting countries I’ve ever been to! Nosy Be is a true paradise, teeming with fascinating wildlife and surrounded by lovely beaches and crystal clear waters, if you’re looking to ethical travel then you’ll love it.

Whilst on the programme you rotate between three main social projects, all the time working hand-in-hand with local people. The three areas consist of Construction, Teaching and Childcare.

While working with the Construction project I had the chance to be involved with hands-on infrastructural projects that helped develop the educational infrastructure of our partner school, and we taught to nearly 800 children each week! This required a lot of creativity and initiative in order to come up with an exciting learning space!

With the Teaching project we had the unique opportunity to interact with the characters of Nosy Be. We taught to all ages from 5 to 55, and honed our teaching techniques whilst building strong friendships from our partner primary school, the local Youth Club and the other educational institutions we visited.

If you prefer teaching at pre-primary level, or just want to enjoy spending time with some of Nosy Be’s youngest and most energetic learners then you’ll love this project. The infectious energy of the pupils will be hard to leave behind!
