My expectations were exceeded on the Costa Rica Big Cats, Primates and Turtle conservation; living in the jungle was a truly unique experience and one that I will never forget. Despite living and working in a remote wilderness camp nestled in between dense rainforest and breathtaking Pacific coastline, the resources available to us made me feel at home; toilet, showers, running water, new food weekly.

The principle investigator was very knowledgeable and put together a great science presentation for the volunteers. He made the survey goals clear and provided great support for the team carrying out crucial research to determine the effects of climate change. The principle investigator also took the time to show volunteers how survey data is entered into the computer system to show a certain outcome, providing us with invaluable fieldwork experience.

My favourite surveys were the turtle, primate, bird and butterfly surveys which were carried out on the shores of the Pacific Ocean and on rainforest trails.

I really enjoyed my time spent on camp and would embark on another Frontier project without hesitation!
